IWC Automatic Dress Watch With Caliber 853
Iwc 853 series movements are considered one of the very best automatic movements of all time. IWC built the movement of this very fine wristwatch in 1960s at the same they were building their famous Ingenieur line. These dress watches were more elegant than the pragmatic Ingenieur but shared the high-performance timekeeping qualities in normal wearing conditions. Compared to an Ingenieur, because they do not have a second inner back, the cases are thinner and lighter on the wrist.
The case measures in at just under 35mm, but it wears larger thanks to its narrow bezel. The dial has just the right amount of patina, which can be appreciated by all vintage aficionados. Underneath this gorgeous tropical dial, the watch is fitted with IWC’s automatic caliber 853, which is designed with excellent performance in mind.
